York, I fail to understand why you are asking me to make this recording.
I told you, it's a social convention. Just say it, D.
Indeed. What I'm referring to, however, is why you are asking -me- to make the recording, York.
I...don't know, who needs a reason? I just thought your voice makes a nice answering machine voice.
I see. In that case, I will proceed.

Why d'you gotta be like that, D? Come on.
I am unsure. What am I 'being like'?
Forget it. Just leave a message. I have an AI to deal with.

[ York cups his hand around the mug and rubs his thumb idly on the handle. ]
Tex didn't share that many details with me but yeah, I picked up that there was an Alpha and that bad things had been happening to him. Delta worked out that Epsilon was memory somewhere along the way—not in time to realize what was happening to you, though. [ He stifles a sigh—just another regret to mark down on the chart, he supposes. ]

You should know, if you talk to him, as a result of the process the Alpha doesn't remember any of it. He's pretty well brainwashed.
The Director had him at one of the simulation bases pretending to be a normal soldier. It was just sheer dumb luck no one noticed the discrepancies. [Dumb is right.]
